Skills we teach:

  • Mountaineering Essential Skills: Rope Management, knot tying, belaying, scrambling on rocky terrain. 

  • Technical Training: Ice climbing, rock climbing, fixed rope ascent/descent, and crevasse rescue drills.

  • Glacier Training: Navigation, ice axe techniques, flat footing techniques, and glaciers safety protocols.

  • Altitude Training: Learning acclimatization methods and managing altitude sickness in a controlled environment. 

  • Expedition Preparation: Practicing team coordination, route planning, and gear management in real case scenario. 

Training Plan

Day 1

Kathmandu Arrival and transfer to hotel

Day 2

Kathmandu: Welcome & orientation program, introduction to the course, gear check

Day 3

Drive around 8 hours, overnight at lodge

Day 4

Trek around 6 to 7 hours, overnight at lodge - Brief information about mountaineering trip planning & management. Evening: Day review, Q & A and Briefing

Day 5

Trek around 6 to 7 hours, overnight at lodge - Briefly talk about high altitude pathalogy & layering system. Evening: Day review, Q & A and Briefing

Day 6

Trek around 4 hours & arrive in lunch hour & hike at least 300 meter above. Overnight at lodge. Evening: Day review, Q & A and Briefing

Day 7

Theory class of equipment familirization, mountaineering risk assesment and safety precaution. Evening: Day review, Q & A and briefing.

Day 8

Evening: Day review, Q & A and Briefing.

Day 9

Evening: Day review, Q & A and Briefing.

Day 10

Evening: Day review, Q & A and Briefing.

Day 11

Kyanjin Gompa: Rest Day.

Day 12

Climb around 5 hours, overnight at camp base.

Day 13

Climb around 5 hours, overngiht at camp base.

Trek around 5 hours, overnight at lodge. Evening: Climbing review in general, Q & A and briefing.

Day 16

Cost Inclusion & Exclusion

  • Satellite phone for emergency use at $3 per minute.

  • First aid medical kit. Sufficient backup oxygen and mask regulator sets at base camp (chargeable as per use).
